auditas statusas T sritis Politika apibrėžtis Finansų ar veiklos valdymo patikrinimas, kurį pagal audito reikalavimus atlieka atsakingos institucijos. Dažniausiai atliekamas finansų arba veiklos auditas. Finansų auditas daugiausia dėmesio skiria viešųjų išlaidų naudojimo teisėtumui ir procedūrų tikslumui; paprastai tikrinama, ar finansų valdymas atitinka teisės aktus. Veiklos auditas apibrėžiamas kaip audituojamo subjekto veiklos įvertinimas remiantis tam tikrais kriterijais; būna viešojo sektoriaus sistemos, organizacijos ar programos auditas. Išorės auditą Lietuvoje atlieka Valstybės kontrolė, vidaus – vidaus audito padaliniai. Auditai dažnai skirstomi į programos, organizacijos ir sistemos. Pagrindiniai kriterijai – ekonomiškumas, efektyvumas ir rezultatyvumas. atitikmenys: angl. audit
